Cell Layout Empty
PostSubject: Cell Layout   Cell Layout EmptyMon Apr 30, 2018 6:51 pm

Developed by Arrdef and myself to suit both COs and inmates. It isn't a server rule to follow this but it's strongly encouraged that you do, so that everyone is playing by the same rules. We don't want to make this a faction rule but it'll be considered if complications arise out of people deviating from it unreasonably.

Optional stuff like plastic commissary TVs isn't included but it's permitted.

  1. Equipment Present in All Cells

    1. Door

      1. Doors are made out of a 2in thick panel, layered with multiple steel skins. The perimeter of the door is formed with pressed steel channel.
      2. The gap all around the door is around 1/10in thick.
      3. The food port can be opened from the outside, and is big enough to put a pair of hands through.
      4. The window is made of laminated and toughened glass, and is see-through on both sides.

    2. Ventilation

      1. Ventilation ducts are placed above the desk, and covered by a perforated stainless steel  welded within a frame.
      2. The perforation is done vertically, with 8/10in holes. The duct itself remains horizontal for 1ft, and then goes vertical.

    3. Light Fixtures

Living areas are fitted with one ceiling-mounted row of LEDs encased in a clamshell, secured with 4 bolts.
      1. Although ideally, contraband concealment is impossible, bolts can and do loosen up due to the effects of gravity, friction, vibrations and pressure.
      2. Loosened bolts can be used to conceal contraband beneath them.

    4. Electrical Outlets

      1. All cells have an electrical outlet, recessed 1 inch into the concrete.
      2. Power may be cut from control rooms.

    5. Toilet-sink units

      1. Secured to the ground and wall with expansion bolts
      2. Welded-together stainless steel structure
      3. Features a hemispherical cabinet that houses the cistern, operated with a push-button.
      4. The seat is contoured with a 1/2in rim, which houses the blowout jets.
      5. The toilet and sink bowls are about 3 inches wide.

  2. General Population Equipment

    1. Beds

      1. General Population bunks are constructed from 5mm thick steel angle framework with a 3mm mild steel folded sheet bed tops.
      2. Bed ends can be used as ladders for top bunk access. They are shallow for a 3in sewn cotton-core mattress.
      3. The mattress is covered by a sheet when in normal use.
      4. Cells also contain one polyester fiberfill core pillow per bed, with the outer layer being flame resistant. Each bed has a polyester fleece blanket.
      5. Inmates are issued bed linen for their mattress, blanket and pillow. The linens are 70% polyester / 30% Cotton.

    2. Desk Area

      1. Desks are made from pressed steel sheets, 1/10in thick. No sharp edges, but the outer ledge of the desk is lipped.
      2. Desks have a swivel stool attached to them, and incorporate no shelves or drawers.
      3. Desks are secured to the floor with expansion bolts, which could only realistically be pulled with adjustable wrenches. The stool is secured to the desk in the same way.

    3. Shelving Units

      1. The cabinet and shelves are secured to the floor and wall, and are pressed from a single steel framework, 1/10in thick.
      2. The cabinet door hinges are welded to the rest of the cabinet, and so are the pull handles. The doors are perforated for ventilation.
      3. The only bolts used are to fix the cabinet on the floor.
      4. There is a 2 inch space between the top of the door and the bend that forms the top of the cabinet.

    4. Locker

      1. Lockers are pressed together structures, out of a 1/5in thick stainless steel frame.
      2. The lockers are  23in long x 16in wide x 11in deep.
      3. They are secured to the ground with anti-vandalism expansion bolts. A hasp lock closure is built in, but requires an external lock for use.
      4. Inmates are issued plastic combination locks, that correctional officers can easily cut with a bolt cutter.

  3. Security Housing Unit Equipment

    1. Beds

      1. SHU Beds are formed out of concrete blocks that seamlessly connect to the walls. They are bunked on top of one another. There is an empty area under each bunk that inmates may use for storage purposes.

    2. Desks

      1. The desk and chairs are simple concrete shapes coming out of the wall.
