Most of you are probably aware that using a kite is a technique to send messages and contraband between inmates - usually when the prison is on lockdown, or in the SHU. Although in LSRP the prison is rarely on lockdown for extensive periods of time, unlike in real life, it could be useful to know how to create, send and fish a kite realistically. Especially if you, or others decide you want to roleplay in AD, or D seg for a period of time.
So, how do I create a kite? The easiest way to create a kite is through using a fishing line (a thin piece of linen, nearly always torn from your bed sheet), and attaching it to something such as an empty tube of toothpaste. In many cases, you might attach other items to the fishing line. Forms of food small enough to fit underneath the door, hygiene products, narcotics, etc.
How do I use said kite? Once you've got your kite, you'll slide it underneath your door towards the cell you're aiming to land it at. It could take multiple attempts to land your kite in the cell, and in some circumstances it may require the recipient to hook the line in. Some inmates may take it upon themselves to fish other peoples kites in - which could clearly cause issues.
Fishing a kite in is a simple process. The easiest way to fish a kite in is through attaching a thin piece of cardboard to a fishing line. You shoot the hook out and underneath a kite, and then pull it in. It is possible to shoot a kite down to the tier below you.
It is also possible to send kites through toilets. If the inmates are able to blow the water out of the toilets, they could have a clear passage to the cell below them, and can drop the kite through the toilet. This a harder process, and less common, however. Below I've listed a video roughly showing what shooting a kite is like.
